AWR Music Productions, LLC presents Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY, the official symphony concert tour.

Launched in 2007, in conjunction with the twentieth anniversary of FINAL FANTASY, Distant Worlds features the music of the great video game series FINAL FANTASY and composer Nobuo Uematsu. The concerts are performed by symphony orchestra, choir, and renowned vocal and instrumental soloists, under the direction of GRAMMY Award-winner and acclaimed conductor Arnie Roth. With HD video presentations from the FINAL FANTASY game developers SQUARE ENIX projected onto giant screens throughout the concerts, Distant Worlds performs a diverse and constantly expanding repertoire of classic FINAL FANTASY music from throughout the thirty year history of the game series.  With a dedicated and phenomenal community of FINAL FANTASY music lovers, Distant Worlds is a unique multimedia concert experience that delights audiences all over the globe.

This is a concert event put on by the video game industry to help encourage and support the culture and art that video games have become.  Video Games Live™ bridges a gap for entertainment by exposing new generations of music lovers and fans to the symphonic orchestral experience while also providing a completely new and unique experience for families and/or non-gamers.  The show is heralded and enjoyed by the entire family.  It’s the power & emotion of a symphony orchestra mixed with the excitement and energy of a rock concert and the technology and interactivity of a video game all completely synchronized to amazing cutting edge video screen visuals, state-of-the-art lighting and special on-stage interactive segments with the audience.

A Tale of Two Cities depicts London and Paris in parallel states of social and political unrest in the tumultuous 1770s. Based on the Charles Dickens epic of the same name, the story follows interwoven stories of love, redemption and revolution.

The 2017 tour comes back by popular demand from the 2016 shows across Europe. The sell out shows were rapturously received by critics and the public alike. Incredibly in a Hollywood career that has spanned decades, these were Hans’s first full shows and were made even more special by the appearance of two of Zimmer’s collaborators guitarist Johnny Marr and Pharrell Williams.

Like the Hammersmith shows, ‘Hans Zimmer Live On Tour’ will be a visual spectacular designed and lit by the world-renowned lighting designer Marc Brickman. Marc has worked with everyone from Pink Floyd to Nine Inch Nails to Barbra Streisand and is responsible for the lighting of the Empire State Building in New York. The Hans Zimmer show will not only sound unlike any other it will also look unlike any other.

 

Hans Zimmer’s interest in music began early when he moved to the UK and met established film composer Stanley Myers where they collaborated on films such as My Beautiful Laundrette. In 1988, Hans’ solo work for Rain Man earned him his first Academy Award Nomination for Best Original Score. 

From this point Hans has scored more than 120 films which have, combined, grossed over 24 billion dollars at the worldwide box office. He has been honored with an Academy Award®, two Golden Globes®, three Grammys®, an American Music Award and a Tony® Award. His most recent Academy Award nomination for Interstellar marks his 10th career Oscar nomination. In 2003, ASCAP presented him with the prestigious Henry Mancini Award for Lifetime Achievement for his impressive and influential body of work. He also received his Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010. In 2014, Hans was honored with the Zurich Film Festival Lifetime Achievement Award.

Celebrating 30 years of stirring virtual adventure and memorable soundtracks with live orchestral renditions directly approved by franchise producer Eiji Aonuma, The Symphony of the Goddesses is now in its fourth season. The two-hour concert comes to life with a 66-piece orchestra, 24-person choir, and a reimagined score that draws from recent and requested Zelda games, including Breath of the WildSkyward SwordA Link Between WorldsTwilight Princess, and the remake of Majora’s Mask, while still paying homage to such classics as Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past.

The concert’s five-movement symphony regales ears with Nintendo composer Koji Kondo’s original music, recalling moments of Link conquering dungeons, running through forests, and struggling to decide what color tunic to wear. Throughout the evening, a video collage syncs up with the adventurous tunes to spotlight exciting moments from the venerable franchise.
